In Northeast Seattle alone, you’ll find local summer programming around every corner — from performances to parties to Parkinson’s fundraising. If you’re looking for fun in the sun, at the park, or in a cool air-conditioned theatre, you’ve come to the right place. Start planning ahead for the following monthly event highlights!

July 6, 13, 20 & 27: Nights at the Neptune
Times vary | Neptune Theatre

Nights at the Neptune, an all-ages series of free weekly performances, returns to the Neptune Theatre through August 10. Head to the University District for four July installments that will explore a variety of racial and social justice themes, including a documentary about indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest; works from female-identified filmmakers and musicians; and a comedy show presented by sober acts for sober community members. Visit the STG website for more details about the 5th annual event.

July 6, 13, 20 & 27: Outdoor Movies at Magnuson Park
6:30pm | Magnuson Park

Each Thursday evening throughout July, Seattle Children’s and Amica Insurance will present an outdoor movie night at Magnuson Park. In addition to each night’s film programming, the whole family can enjoy food trucks, trivia, and live entertainment. This month’s movies will include “Rogue One,” “Moana,” “Hidden Figures,” and the original “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.”

July 8 & 9: Wedgwood Art Festival
10am – 5pm | Our Lady of the Lake Parish and School

The 12th annual Wedgwood Art Festival will bring local art, entertainment, food, and activities to the neighborhood on the first weekend of July. Enjoy a bite and admire painting, drawing, and printmaking; jewelry; ceramics and pottery; mixed media; fiber and leather; photography; glass; metal; and wood creations.

July 12, 19 & 26: Sounds of Summer Concert Series
6pm – 8:30pm | University Village

In addition to music from local acts, enjoy food from your favorite U Village restaurants, refreshments from the RAM beer garden, and fun activities for the little ones at this free  summer concert series. The weekly event is presented by UW Medicine and will run through August 23 — the perfect summer tradition for the whole family!

July 20: ArbFest Summer Party
6pm – 10pm | Washington Park Arboretum

The second annual ArbFest will return to the Washington Park Arboretum on the heels of last year’s success. This year’s event is inspired by Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and will include an abridged performance of the classic work, a special cocktail hour with signature refreshments and performances by Seattle Shakespeare Company, a Renaissance-style feast, and lawn games — all among the lush and mystical surroundings of the Arboretum. Get your tickets by July 11!

July 29: Team Parkinson’s Walk
8:30am | Magnuson Park

This fundraiser for the Northwest Parkinson’s Foundation will unite people with the condition, their care partners and friends, health care professionals, and community members for its 18th year running. The walk has raised more than $1 million since its inception, and this year, the mission will continue. Find more information at the Northwest Parkinson’s Foundation website.
