Northeast Seattle Events: Things to Do in November
You know the holiday season is impending as soon as the turkey-roasting tools are wielded and the shopping lists begin to fill… and November is that time. Partake in your fair share of special seasonal activities, such as Thanksgiving Day races and post-Thanksgiving shopping opportunities, and prep for it all with local restaurant deals and university events. Fill in the gaps on your November calendar with these choices in your northeast Seattle neighborhood.
November 1-2: Seattle Restaurant Week

This is your last chance to check the final few restaurants off your Seattle Restaurant Week bucket list! Don’t miss the tail end of SRW’s 3-week fall edition, where you can score a 3-course dinner for $33 (or a 2-course lunch for $18 at select locations). Participating northeast Seattle restaurants and their respective SRW hours are listed below. Follow the links for menu details and to book your reservation in advance:

November 3-4: Northwest Green Building Slam
5:30 – 10pm | UW Kane Hall
The 2017 Green Building Slam will feature 10-minute presentations by 10 speakers covering 10 informational slides about different green buildings. These sustainable projects include Seattle-based construction “from residential to multi-family to mixed use developments.” Presenters are active members of the Northwest EcoBuilding Guild, and audience members typically include architects, builders, homeowners, real estate professionals, and eco-conscious citizens. Tickets for the Friday slam are on sale now, and professionals are also invited to attend the Summit on Saturday.
November 10-12: Best of the Northwest Art & Fine Craft Show
Times vary | Hangar 30 at Magnuson Park
The Northwest Art Alliance returns to Magnuson Park for its 29th annual fall edition of the Best of the Northwest Art & Fine Craft Show! Browse more than 100 local artist and artisan booths, treat yourself to bites and beverages from onsite food trucks, and bring the whole family for kid-friendly activities (kids 12 and under get in free!). The event runs from noon to 7pm on Friday, 10am to 6pm on Saturday, and 10am to 5pm on Sunday. Entry costs $8.
November 23: Wattle Waddle
6am – 2pm | Gas Works Park
Start Thanksgiving morning bright and early and work up an appetite by registering for the Wattle Waddle marathon or Wittle Waddle half-marathon! Each race kicks off at Gas Works Park and follows a course northeast along the Burke-Gilman Trail. Aid stations will offer an assortment of snacks and supplies including hot cider, cocoa, chips, soup, water, and Gatorade. Find more information online ahead of the race. November 25-26: GeekCraft Expo
11am – 6pm Saturday, 11am – 5pm Sunday | Hangar 30 at Magnuson Park
A special GeekCraft Expo holiday market will roll through northeast Seattle just after Thanksgiving. Who needs Black Friday when you can gift handmade crafts to the beloved geeks in your life? From geek-approved clothing, accessories, toys, decor, furniture, art, gadgets, and so much more, look no further for unique holiday shopping. Attending the expo is free, but you’ll no doubt want your wallet on hand as you peruse booths offering wacky wares and fine fanfare!
