Northeast Seattle Events: Things to Do in October

It’s the spookiest time of the year, and you’ll find plenty of activities and events around northeast Seattle to get you into the seasonal spirit. Here are a few picks to keep on your radar.

October 1: An Incredible Feast
5 – 8pm | Center for Urban Horticulture

The popular fundraiser dinner hosted at the Center for Urban Horticulture will once again bring guests a gourmet spread of farm-to-table plates plus local beer and wine. Proceeds continue to benefit the Neighborhood Farmers Markets’ Good Farmer Fund, which provides emergency relief to local farms. Seattle-area farmers and chefs will team up to create yet another menu showcasing fresh Pacific Northwest flavors. Dig in and enjoy live entertainment or bid on silent auction items. Tickets are still available online, so grab yours before it’s too late!

October 5: Brew at the Zoo
6 – 9pm | Woodland Park Zoo

Sample your favorite microbrews and ciders (or find a new favorite!) all while raising money to help the animals at Woodland Park Zoo! The zoo will host its 7th annual Brew at the Zoo beer tasting event this October — the perfect evening for 21+ guests. Sip on offerings from up to 56 different breweries, experience after-hours animal encounters, play games and enter raffles, and leave with a special zoo discount (come back by the end of the year and receive $3 off general admission!). October 6: Oktoberfest Party Cruise by Waterways Cruises
8:30pm | Lake Union and Lake Washington

Depart from the north end of Lake Union and sail through the Montlake Cut to Lake Washington as you say prost with an Oktoberfest brew in hand. Snack on German classics such as brats, pretzels, and strudel between tastings from Pike Brewing Company and enjoy live entertainment aboard this festive 3-hour yacht cruise. October 13 – 14: Oktoberquest
5pm Friday – 7pm Saturday | Hangar 30 at Magnuson Park

Questival, everyone’s favorite 24-hour adventure race, returns to Seattle for a special fall event: Oktoberquest! The team challenge kicks off at Magnuson Park and follows a stimulating outdoor course. More details and teammate signup can be found on the Questival website.

October 17: Local Economy Group, Sustainable Northeast Seattle
7pm | HomeStreet Bank Wedgwood

Join Sustainable Northeast Seattle for its monthly Local Economy Group meeting at HomeStreet Bank in Wedgwood. The group meets at 7pm on the third Tuesday of each month (other upcoming meetings will take place on November 21 and December 19). The goal is to discuss ideas, goals, and action projects to foster community sustainability and “effect positive change for our locality, creating a world that works for all.” Come be a part of the movement!

October 28: Halloween Party Cruise by Waterways Cruises
9pm | Lake Union and Lake Washington

Seattle’s Waterways cruise provider is back with a spooktacular evening float across Lake Union and Lake Washington. Don your best costume and enter the onboard costume contest (categories include Best Celebrity Costume, Most Original Costume, Scariest Costume, Best Couple Costume, and Funniest Costume), dance along to favorite Halloween tunes, indulge in festive snacks and cocktails, and take in 3 hours worth of after-dark Seattle skyline views.
